Pilot 1 Sgt Denys Rolin poses in front of his Gloster Gladiator I G-22. On 11 May 1940, while escorting a formation of nine Belgian Fairey Battles to bomb the bridges over the Albert Canal, Rolin (in G-22) managed to shoot down a Luftwaffe BF109 at Zichen before faling victim himself to enemy fire at Heukelom (Vroenhoven). Fortunately he jumped to safety but was captured.
