After a double flame-out Avro Canada CF100 Canuck AX-32 had to make an emergency landing at Beauvechain airbase on 27 September 1960. The aircraft didn't make it and landed short of the runway. Unfortunately the retracting nose wheel triggered off the ejection seat of the pilot (CO of the 1 Wing) who was killed in what would otherwise have been a survivable accident.
