Aerial view of Brustem airfield taken in the early days after the Second World War the runways are still only crudely repaired from bomb impacts and this provoked premature wear on the Harvard trainers tires. The direct consequence of this was that the lack of available T-6's on the base forced the Belgian authorities to lease 10 Harvards from the Dutch Koninklijke Luchtmacht for one year in 1948/1949.
